All laptop come with an OEM AC adapter sufficient to run the system at full performance and either an OEM battery in good working health or replacement aftermarket battery. Full system specs, configuration, and notes are documented in the second picture of each respective items gallery. Dell Precision 3571 15.6” laptop intel core i7 12700H T600 4GB GDDR6 16GB RAM 512GB NVMe: $600
This is a mobile workstation, extremely suitable for industrial grade work such as engineering (CAD) or coding/video/music production. Good for anyone in particular needing a very powerful laptop with a large display. Also capable of running some games (low-medium settings depending on title).
Dell latitude 5491 14” laptop intel core i7 8850H 32GB RAM 512GB NVMe: $450
This business class laptop sports a hex-core 8th gen i7 that is still one of the more capable CPUs you can get in a laptop computer, ideal for multi-tasking workloads and getting things done sooner than later.
Dell Latitude 5420 14” laptop intel core i7 1165G7 24GB RAM 256GB NVMe: $430
This 14” business class laptop is a great pick for a reasonably light but still very capable machine able to handle multitasking and with enough graphics capability to do more than just watch videos. You’d be quite surprised just how capable Intel’s Iris Xe graphics can be, able to actually run some games at playable frame rates (think base PS4 performance).
ALTERNATE OPTION: I have an identical variant of this laptop equipped with a Core i5-1145G7 instead for $400.
The difference between the two CPUs in terms of performance is not large at all, mostly margin of error. The main advantage the i7 has over the i5 in this comparison is more L3 cache and a slightly better integrated graphics solution.
Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 14” laptop intel core i5 1135G7 16GB RAM 256GB NVMe: $380
ThinkPads remain some of the very best business class (and by extension for all user types and cases) laptops on the market due to their excellent build quality and serviceability. This is a modern ThinkPad that will capably handle most peoples workloads in a thin and light chassis coupled with an excellent IPS display producing vibrant colors with superb viewing angles.

This business class full size notebook computer is plentifully adept at daily computing needs.

This premium build quality business laptop is able to handle moderate multi-tasking, and is plenty for everyday computing tasks. The RAM capacity is especially good for power users who like keeping dozens of tabs in their web browsers.

This 14” laptop is capable enough for running most modern CAD applications though it’s on the minimum system requirements. An excellent all-rounder machine that is plenty for every day tasks with enough compute performance for CAD and photo/video editing. May also be able to run some games at low settings.

ALTERNATE OPTION 2: I have another variant of this laptop that steps up the CPU to an i5-8365U but without the Radeon discrete Graphics (uses Intel iGPU instead) for $320.
Lenovo thinkpad t460 14” Laptop intel core i5 6200U 12GB RAM 256GB SSD: $220
If you’re a fan of ThinkPads and in the market for a decent budget laptop, then you’ll be happy to know this machine is perfectly good for web browsing and day to day document processing. The extended capacity battery also helps with propping the machine up for a more ergonomic typing experience while of course ensuring longer than average run times when off the wall.
